Introduction to Days of Prayer and Action

Leer en español

For the past eight years churches in Colombia, United States, and Canada have joined in prayer and action for the peace of Colombia, during the annual Days of Prayer and Action (DOPA). We continue to invite churches to focus together for two days of the year, on our brothers and sisters in Colombia, because there is still a long path towards peace. The purpose of this event is to educate and connect us in solidarity with Anabaptist churches within and outside of Colombia on issues of peace and justice.

There are countless signs of peace. Colombians, some of who are partners with MCC, and the Anabaptist churches are praying and working for peace and justice in a variety of ways; with community projects, education programs for children, alternative economic development, and psycho-social rehabilitation.

Many countries and situations around the world need our prayers and action, but on this day we ask that you join our brothers and sisters in Colombia to dedicate your prayers, thoughts, and actions to this situation, so that soon all Colombians may experience the Shalom of God.

For the next several weeks, we will be publishing resources and reflections that the Seeders have written to be part of the Days of Prayer and Action material, for the peace of their different communities. You will find them with the tag: DOPA.
